New Players Wanted!
Little Bardfield Cricket Club is on the look out for new players!
Whether you're a seasoned pro or just thinking about starting out, now is a great time to be joining us at LBVCC!

Little Bardfield has a proud cricketing heritage stretching back more than a century, and while we honour that history, the club is evolving. Having spent far too much time travelling to the deepest and darkest sides of Essex and Suffolk in the last 20 years we made the move in 2025 to join the Herts & Essex Border League, meaning all our cricket is now played in or within a short trip of from Little Bardfield. The change has already brought a wave of new faces alongside players who've represented the club for years, and we're excited to welcome even more this season.
If you like the sound of playing for team that takes takes it cricket seriously but not necessarily each other... then look no further! We run weekly outdoor nets during the summer (April - September), and indoor through the winter, so why not pop along to see if joining LBVCC is for you!?

Still need convincing? Here's some more reasons we think you should join LBVCC:

The Ground & Facilities
Our picturesque cricket ground is set into the Uttlesford countryside, just off of the main road through Little Bardfield surrounded by local farmer's fields. It really is a beautiful place to spend a Saturday afternoon!
Not only is it lovely to look at, but in recent years we have invested heavily in our grass wickets as well as a newly updated artificial wicket which means that it's also a great place to play cricket!
The fully licensed and very reasonably priced bar in the clubhouse is a great addition (one of the perks of having a brewery as a club sponsor!)
The Cricket

Our club strives to offer cricket opportunities for everyone, no matter your background, age or ability.
Our senior team competes in the Herts & Essex Border League which means all of our cricket is now played either at our home ground or within a very short journey. The change in leagues has also made it much easier to introduce and include new players which has been incredibly well received and we hope that we're able to welcome many more this season.
We are part of an evening T20 cricket cup and arrange a number of social fixtures each year as well as running a successful junior cricket offer for young people aged 8-12 years.
We recognise that some people may only wish to play a handful of games rather than committing to a full season and payment of annual subscriptions can be a big ask if you don't plan to play all summer - this is why LBVCC's fees are not only significantly cheaper than other local clubs, but the club has also created different membership and match fee options for those playing fewer games to make sure playing cricket doesn't break the bank!
The Wider Club

Having been constituted over 100 years ago, joining LBVCC means you'll be joining a rich history of cricket and community. You can see more detail about the history of the club here.
LBVCC players are a very social group and enjoy each other's company on and off the field with a number of fundraising and social events throughout the year. Having positioned ourselves as a community hub in recent years the club also hosts a number of community events throughout the summer bringing club members and local residents together to have a good time. Did we mention we have a local brewery as a club sponsor??
